Weeneebayko Area Health Integration Framework Agreement

Under the leadership of MCFN Chief and Council, a Health Transformation Advisory Group is established as part of the MCFN Health Transformation. This working group will advise the Renewal Health Team and the MCFN Chief and Council on the future of MCFN Health and provide instructions. This working group is composed of the following members: the Government of Canada is deeply committed to renewing its relationship with the Métis Nation on the basis of recognition of rights, respect, cooperation and partnership. Building on the commitments made in the Canada-Métis Nation Accord, which outlines how Canada and the Métis National Council will work together to set priorities and develop policy in areas of mutual interest, Budget 2018 proposes to invest $516 million over 10 years, including $500 million over 10 years, to support a Métis Nation housing strategy. $10 million in 2018–19 to support Métis Nation post-secondary education and $6 million over five years to help the Métis Nation collect health data and develop a health strategy. .
